What the TikTok to Text tool does
It turns the speech in a public TikTok video into text. Our server fetches the audio from the link you paste, runs speech recognition on it and shows the result in an editor, one line per sentence with the time it starts. You get text only: the video and its audio are not offered for download, and the audio is deleted as soon as the transcript is ready.
What you can use a TikTok transcript for
- Turning your own TikToks into blog posts, newsletters, captions or scripts you can reuse.
- Taking notes from tutorials, talks and explainers without replaying the video.
- Quoting accurately, with the exact moment a line was said.
- Making a video easier to follow for people who prefer reading, or who can't listen with sound on.
Tips for a more accurate transcript
- Choose the spoken language if you know it. Auto-detect works well, but short clips give it little to go on.
- Clear speech with little background music gives the best results. Music under the voice lowers accuracy.
- Check names, brands and slang. These are the words speech recognition most often gets wrong.
What it can't do
- Private, removed and restricted videos can't be read. Only public videos work.
- Videos up to 60 minutes long are supported.
- It transcribes speech only, not text shown on screen. It doesn't label speakers or translate.
- Songs and sound effects are not transcribed reliably.
Have the video file instead?
If you saved the video yourself, upload it to Video to Text and transcribe it right in your browser. For timed caption files, use the Subtitle Generator. Working with Instagram instead? Try Instagram Reel to Text.
Use transcripts responsibly
Only transcribe videos you made or have permission to use, and follow TikTok's terms and the creator's rights if you republish any of the text.
