Terms of Service

By using TranscriptionClip (the "Service") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

TranscriptionClip provides free online tools to transcribe audio and video, generate subtitles, convert subtitle files to text, extract audio from video, and compress video. We may add, change, limit or remove features at any time.

2. Your content

• You keep all rights to the files you upload and the results you download.
• You give us a limited permission to store and process your files only as needed to provide the tool you chose, including sending audio to our speech-to-text provider. This permission ends when the files are deleted.
• You confirm that you own your files or have the necessary rights and consents to process them — including the consent of people recorded where the law requires it.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is illegal, infringes someone else's copyright, or violates anyone's privacy;
• Use the Service to process recordings made without legally required consent;
• Upload malware or files designed to harm our systems;
• Automate access, scrape the Service, bypass usage limits or bot protection, or use the Service to build a competing service;
• Interfere with the Service's security or other people's use of it.

We may block access for anyone who breaks these rules.

4. Usage limits

To keep the Service free, we apply limits on file size, recording length, the number of jobs per hour and total transcription minutes per day. Current limits include files up to 500 MB and recordings up to 60 minutes for transcription. Limits may change without notice.

5. Accuracy

Transcripts and subtitles are generated automatically by AI speech recognition and can contain errors, including misheard words, wrong names, and missing punctuation. Review results before relying on them, and do not use them as the sole record for legal, medical or other high-stakes purposes.

6. File retention

Files are deleted automatically, as described in our Privacy Policy. Download your results promptly — we cannot recover deleted files.

7. Advertising

The Service may display clearly labeled advertisements. Ads are provided by third parties; we are not responsible for their content. You never need to click an ad to use a tool or download your results.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TranscriptionClip and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to US $50.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from the content you upload or your violation of these terms.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator of the Service is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
